This is a little random, but I feel like I've found myself asking this or being asked this quite often throughout life. Figured I would just type this into the google search engine and came across this entertaining sub reddit on people's theories for why celebrities tend to just date each other. Or on the contrary - why some celebrities refuse to date another famous person and instead seek out us "ordinary people." Im not sure what my answer would be - maybe just that it's easier to relate to someone who understands your lifestyle more, or simply just because all these celebrities hang out together so its like their bound to meet eventually. I've just always thought the whole little community of celebrities selectively dating and marrying one another was a little creepy.

This is something that comes up every once in a while in my mind as well. The relationships that celebrities go through are so strange. It's hard to know how and why they work and I was hoping the reddit link would explain more to me, haha. But it's okay, it's kind of a impossible question to ask and expect to get full clarity on. I think what you said definitely makes sense, similar lifestyle, similar availability, similar work ethic, all that jazz. The stars that refuse to date other stars are a super interesting category of the topic. Would love an article that shows a list of those celebrities.
ReplyDeleteI buy that argument- I always think that it can be beneficial to your career. By dating certain pertain you can be guaranteed more visibility and public exposure. I think of Amber Heard for example, after dating Johnny Depp and starring in The Rum Diaries, she joined the cast of Justice League (Warner Bros) and several other high profile projects. There may be no correlation between the two but I consider attending award shows such as the oscars, golden globes or other high profile events can add fans, attention and criticism to your persona.
