I was recently talking to my boss who before settling at USC as a communications coordinator was a body guard for celebrities (an odd transition, by he's 6'4" and graduate school is expensive). He recalled that his client was once Anna Nicole Smith and that his most uncomfortable moment as a body guard was seeing her do drugs with her son. Smith and her son both tragically lost their lives to an overdose, like many celebrities in the spotlight it becomes overwhelming. An although that might not be an excuse for having exposed her son to that lifestyle, it still goes to show how the media can damage lives and make people look like monsters instead of providing the help they might need.
